This morning, on my way to work, I was complaining to myself about how late I was, about the traffic, about people that can’t drive.  I slowed to a stop in front of the Fire Department next to my building.  There, lined up, in uniform, across the entire front of the building, stood firefighters.  They stood at attention, but with heads bowed.  I looked at the clock in my car, and it read 9:01 CST.  Seven years to the minute that the second tower was hit.

Ed. note:  In visiting other blogs today, I noticed that a lot of the original participants of the  2,996 Project re-posted their tributes.  What a wonderful idea.  Here’s mine as posted back on September 11, 2006.

NEVER forget.

Never.
