Fourteen children. Eight of them newborns. $2 million before she’ll talk to anyone.
And now she says she wants to become a ‘televised childcare expert.’ I’m thinking she should try actually raising these children before calling herself anything other than a media whore.

It sounds like she is an expert at getting knocked-up, so as long as she limits her expertise to that subject she should be fine.

Seriously? I wonder about the ‘ethics’ of the doctors who did the invitro-fertilisation and implanted 8 eggs when 2 is the norm. I don’t understand why anyone would go through this program with six children at home in the first place. Confirms my theory that there should be a license for parenthood! And damn those who would pay to hear her story. She’ll earn enough on welfare! (sorry this one made me furious given all the childless couples out there who would kill for just one of their own)

I’m with Baino. Whatever possessed the docs to give her in vitro under the circumstances. It is obscene!

Well, winding up with 14 kids… that’s all water under the bridge. Gotta admire her chutzpah for demanding the media outlets cough up some cash.
And, if you ask me, $2 million is a bit low an asking price in today’s world…sh owes her parents something for losing their house for them. But you didn’t ask.

It’s my belief that all the children should be taken by the welfare agency and adopted out to families who would love to take just one or even a whole bunch. They’d certainly have a better life…

This is what happens when the media and Hollywood glamorize mass births. Having one kid is tough enough. But 8 at one time? That’s just irresponsible.

This makes me angry on so many levels. Did you also hear that she is looking for corporate support that has been given to other families? She is not an expert any more than I am.
She needs to be held accountable and so does the fertility clinic that implanted her when she already had SIX other children.

The other only live birth of octuplets born in the U.S. where born here in Houston. They are African and they never received any of the “corporate sponsors” that other multiples did. They don’t complain – they did do an article once and say it was racism – but they go about their business and raise their children.
Interesting contrast.

I am beyond furious with the whole situation. She does not deserve one cent. From anyone. Is she trying to be Jon and Kate? I am horrified, just horrified.
Those poor children.

She had six kids already, went to the “Turkey Baster” doctor and when told all eight had taken decided not to have any”selectively aborted”.
She’ll suck tons of money from our government wellfare programs and even more from gullible fooles.
Grrrrrrrr that story just gets up my nose

did she use medicaid to get pregnant? if so i’m going to city hall and bash bloomberg’s nuts in.
February 6, 2009 at 2:54 pm
She had the remaining 6 embryos from her initial fertilization implanted. 2 of them split (I guess). Her reasoning was that they were HER kids, and she should choose how many would be installed. Who cares what’s safe? Who cares what’s ehtical? Who cares that she’s told all kinds of differnet stories to all kindso f differnet people over the years to get what she’s wanted? Go ahead – pop ‘em out and then get paid to talk about your impressive irresponsibility. Jeez!!!
And guess what? They’re all the result of a sperm donor! Excellent! Not even a Dad in the mix to pick up the slack when there are 8 mouths crying for food.
It’s wrong on so many levels.
