But damn, guys! Check this out! Thanks to Kenju for sending me this rendition of one of the most beloved songs down here (and the theme of this here blog, no less) by some of our newest talent. (He’s actually 16 now, and still pretty darn adorable, if you wanna know.) For all the horrible things that we are infamous for, this is one of the best reasons to live here.
Crank it up! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh-eeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

OMG LMAO, that kid was rocking it out. I can’t imagine standing in front of that many people and not passing out let alone singing.

I just got the little spinny-loader-ma-bob.
Damn.
Will try later, but now I have to go play that daggone GAME you posted.

I’ve seen this before and it’s still precious. My sister in law, living off the coast of Seattle, plays accordian. She still talks about how much fun it was to go to Eunice and visit Cajun accordian makers. We always had fun with her and the brother in law, my husband’s brother also a musician, when they visited us in Lafayette. Lots of live Cajun music and dancing! Good times.

That is so cute! He is very talented.

I agree, WN. This song is one of the first ones I learned to sing. Oh how I love it.

Are we talking fun, or what? You know I love that song; he should have been halftime entertainment at the “Big One.”

That is adorable.

I am so glad you liked it! The minute he started singing Jambalaya, I knew I had to send it to you!

Where’d he get that mini-accordian?
January 19, 2008 at 7:38 pm
Damn! Thassa lotta rednecks!
On the one hand, the boy’s singing seemed very tentative, and his accordion playing was amateurish at best.
On the other hand, he sang and played with Hank Wiliams, Jr. at the age of 4, and I, at the age of 43, can’t play a damn thing with anyone!
Is the kid on YouTube or anything? (I shall check.)

Yeah, Farrago, he’s 16 and on YouTube and also has a website (Hunter Hayes [dot] com.) And I disagree — that’s a far cry from amateurish, particularly for a kid!
