What is high in the middle and round on both ends?
OHIO….Go Bucks
I agree with the 1-2 swap…I’m not impressed with USC.

I would have voted that way, too, if I could have. LSU is showing something more special than usual this year.
As for my Mountaineers? Well, hell. I haven’t seen a Mountie offense play so poorly since the 70s. USF deserved the win – what a storybook thing they’ve got going on down there.
*sigh*
National title hopes? Heisman hopes? Beasts of the East? MY TRIP TO NEW ORLEANS????
*sigh*
At least we weren’t the ony high and mighty ones to lose it this weekend. And also, our defense showed up. And also? A record low in penalty numbers, I do believe. Hey – gotta make the silver lining if there isn’t one, yanno?
Geaux Tigers!

Jen, just remember, Florida was a one-loss national champion, as was LSU in 2003, and a couple others, as I recall. I’m thinking it’ll be hard for any top team to go all the way without a loss. And I shudder at the thought of a bunch of angry, hungry Gators entering Tiger Stadium Saturday night. But thanks for the kind words and the geaux-geaux-geaux from the East. We need all the love we can get!
About USF? I never thought I could like a Florida team, but you’re right — these guys are something else.
(And about all those missing penalties? I know where they were. Ahem.)

Yes, there is no give up in ‘Eer-land. Just a bit of disappointment. I know you know the kind of which I speak. And it highlights the sucky thing about the no playoff world of college ball – one loss and you feel like it’s the end of the world, almost. I’m not a huge advocate of a playoff system, but I can see the virtues. From here. LOL
That Florida-LSU game is going to be a DON’T MISS TV, I tell you what. There’s been a lot of that going around this season.
I love football.

All I have to say is, it’s about time.

Would it be wrong for me to have a purple and gold banner made proclaiming LSU #1! GEAUX TIGERS! and hang it in my office at UF?

I double-dog DARE ya…

I’m pinching myself that BC has cracked the top 10! It doesn’t look like this team is going to have a late season breakdown that’s kept them out of a meaningful bowl game these past slew of years.

Ain’t life grand? Let’s see, 33 smart, better late than never, coaches and 32 coaches who should have their head examined.
You could have told them.
I can’t believe it’s been since 1959. Do it for Baton Rouge. GEAUX TIGERS!
October 1, 2007 at 9:07 am
Yep. 1959. (Good year, by the way…
) We’re like fine wine. (2003 didn’t hurt, either!)

Glad the Huskies could help you out. Too bad they couldn’t put the final nail in USC’s coffin.
October 1, 2007 at 12:29 pm
Somehow, somewhere, someone will. I’m counting on Sparky Duck’s Ducks to do it for me.
October 1, 2007 at 5:13 pm
Only #9? Where’s the fairness in the world!
Okay, sorry, this is what confused me, ” • LSU ranked No. 1 by AP, first time since ‘59 – Oct 1 (The Daily Reveille)
Not the same thing. But, 1959 was the year of the Century, it seems.
October 1, 2007 at 5:29 pm
Yep. This is the first time we’ve been ranked 1st DURING THE SEASON since 1959. We received a #1 post season ranking in 2003, when we won the BCS Championship.

I came over from Zoot’s. I see you in the comments and thought I would drop by.
Wouldn’t ya know the very first thing I read was about LSU? Wanna guess who MY team is?! And has been since I was a small girl-child?!
USC.
I laughed and laughed. I was PISSED they were dropped to number two. I expected it after last weeks game, but I was still mad!
It ought to be an interesting season. Good luck!
